Dr. Mondana Ebrahimi is a Canadian healthcare technology executive, consultant, author and doctoral researcher. Her work spans digital health transformation, AI engineering, health informatics, interoperability, data governance, privacy, security and enterprise technology strategy. Over nearly two decades, she has contributed to major healthcare and public-sector initiatives across Canada, helping organizations translate complex technical and regulatory challenges into practical, accountable systems that improve how health information is governed, exchanged and used.

She is the founder and Chief Technology Officer of HealthTrustIQ, where she leads the design of healthcare governance, risk, interoperability, privacy, security and responsible technology solutions. Her background includes senior leadership and consulting roles across provincial health organizations, hospitals and global technology firms, with deep expertise in HL7 and FHIR standards, health data architecture, digital transformation, product delivery and responsible AI governance.

Mondana is a trained oral surgeon and a self-described computer science engineering geek. She holds an MBA and is completing a Doctor of Business Administration focused on responsible AI adoption and data governance in Canadian healthcare. She has served in national health interoperability leadership, and has authored books and professional learning materials on healthcare data governance and interoperability.

Joy Ardanaz is a healthcare technology strategist and executive leader with more than 25 years of experience in health-system transformation, AI adoption, policy and frontline operations. As Director of Consulting Services and Health & Life Sciences Industry Leader at an international technology consulting firm, she leads initiatives that connect complex innovation with practical healthcare delivery.

Joy has built her career at the intersection of emerging technology and patient care. Her expertise includes major Electronic Health Record and Electronic Medical Record implementations, including Epic, TELUS and OKAKI, as well as remote patient monitoring, telemedicine, health-system governance and large-scale transformation. She has contributed as a solution architect to Canadian Space Agency initiatives, designing modular medical systems for terrestrial deployment and deep-space missions, and has led generative AI adoption and governance within major public-sector modernization programmes.

Beyond her corporate roles, Joy is an industry advocate and board leader. She serves as President of the HIMSS Eastern Canada Chapter and co-chairs TECHNATION’s National Interoperability Working Group, championing equitable access, cultural safety, interoperability and Indigenous health sovereignty.

Joy holds master’s degrees in Business Administration and Project Management, PMI’s Project Management Professional credential, and certifications in SAFe, Epic, and AI for Healthcare from Stanford University. Her writing on AI design, health equity, interoperability and executive strategy combines evidence-based insight with a grounded, human-centred perspective.
